There’s something sacred about an evening ritual, especially one that invites your body to rest, reset, and release the day. Lately, I’ve been leaning into a simple magnesium tea made from banana, and it’s been a quiet game-changer for my sleep.
Here’s the recipe:
Start with 8 oz. of spring or filtered water. Take one organic banana (yes, the peel too, just make sure it’s clean), chop it into a few pieces, and bring everything to a boil. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes. Remove the banana pieces, strain the liquid into your favorite teacup, and sip slowly.
What you’re left with is a light, aromatic tea with a subtle banana essence—comforting, warm, and grounding.
But here’s where the magic really lies: magnesium. This essential mineral plays a key role in calming the nervous system, regulating melatonin (your sleep hormone), and relaxing muscles. Studies suggest that magnesium deficiency, common in many adults, can lead to insomnia, restlessness, and poor sleep quality.
After a few nights of drinking this tea, I noticed I was falling asleep more easily and staying asleep. No tossing. No turning. Just rest.
You can add sweetener, but I recommend trying it as is first. Let your body experience it in its pure form.
Sometimes, better sleep isn’t complicated. Sometimes, it’s just a cup of tea and a moment to slow down.
